I started working with Rich two and a half years ago, when I was told that I needed surgery for a torn rotator cuff. I was very concerned about the 6 month recovery period, during which I was told my right arm would need to be immobilized. My husband was working with Rich and recommended that I speak to him about my shoulder. Rich suggested that unless I changed my patterns of movement, I would likely have the same issues after surgery that led to the tear in the first place, compounded by the damage from months of immobility. He offered to work with me to regain mobility of my arm and reduce the pain without surgery. When I started working with him, remotely due to COVID, I was unable to raise my right arm more than 90 degrees and was taking large amounts of anti-inflammatories to control the pain. Within a short time, I regained much mobility and had reduced pain, and within several months I was able to kayak. What really impressed me was how he focused on my whole body, so that I achieved better mobility and patterns of movement all over. Other aches and pains that I took for granted have improved significantly as well, and I feel better and enjoy outdoor activities more than ever. When certain things set me back, Rich has an amazing ability to figure out what is wrong over the video, and in one session whatever is bothering me is better. Despite having aged 2 years (I’m 62), I am in better shape and more flexible than I was two years ago, thanks to Rich!
